And oh boy am I glad I’m not the one giving her the car. I cannot believe how expensive it is for auto insurance for a teenage girl. She’s an A student and took Driver’s Ed. For full coverage it will be $200 a month. For just insurance on the other guy, $100 a month. I just don’t remember it being that horribly high when I was a teen. Mine was $25 a month and really, it still is. I wonder how much it would be if she didn’t have her own car and was just an occasional driver on mine or her father’s car.
I am not looking forward to the day she heads off in a car by herself for the first time. It will be the first time I won’t be able to protect her. There are so many idiots out there driving. So many things to distract a teenage driver. I don’t want to think about it any more!
