Lightening
struck my house last night. Now I have no air conditioning. It’s hot. I’m miserable. Nuff said.
Hard to hold wool and knit socks when it’s hotta than hades in the house. Everyone feel sorry for me, o.k.?

I was searching for a knitting pattern for a dress with the little diaper cover/lolly/panty thing, whatever you want to call it, and came across this, padded panty, and being the curious soul I am I had to take a look. These things are padded to make your rear end look bigger! Excuse me, but I got enough “junk in the trunk” for three people. I don’t need any more. Although I’m mighty envious of those who have this problem and would need something like that. Wonder if there’s a knitting pattern for those? teeheee.
Back to my search for the perfect knit dress and lolly for my cousins 6 month old baby.
So I’ll have it where I can find it when I want to use it. My filing system stinks. I consists of piling up papers till they start falling over and Ihave to do something with them.
When you reaches the spot where you want the heal, or would normally start the heel flap?
knit half the total number of stitches with waste yarn. Slip those
wast yarn sts back onto the left hand needle, and continue to knit with
the real working yarn until the sock is finished (with the exception of the heel, of course). When you are ready to knit the heel, pick out the
waste yarn, pick up all the live sts with three DPNs and begin the decreases like a toe.
I decided I was being unfair to you, dearest reader. I’m whining about not being in one of those Orlando vacation rental homes sunning and vacationing and not sharing enough of what I’m up to fiber and art wise. So here’s a sock in progress for you:

Not sure how I feel about it, really. Not sure I like the yarn. It’s going to take more than one ball, I think, because I made it so very long. I’m not very good at the random eyelet pattern. And this is only the second set I’ve made, so it’s just not good at all. I’ll finish the other and where them around the house, but I won’t show the gals at knitting circle. They’ve all been knitting a lot longer than me. I’m originally a crocheter, you see. Learning to knit has been difficult for me.
This will be the first year we haven’t gone to nationals for my daughter’s competition dance team. I just couldn’t swing the cost this year. The competition will be held at the International Hotel and Resort in Orlando. Way too pricey for my, especially since I had pneumonia in March and owe a lot of money to hospitals and am just now catching up my bills from lost work time. So, while all our friends, and Diva’s dance buddies are enjoying their Orlando vacation home stays and visiting Disney, I’ll be here working away, blogging, spinning and knitting. I’m hoping the last two will keep my mind off it. I feel like I failed this year. Diva’s taking it just fine. I think I’m being harder on myself than I should be, but still.
