It’s an older model(1970’s) Ashford Traditional. The wheel spins wonderfully! I can’t say enough thanks to the generous person who had her sitting in her kitchen who kindly shipped this wonderful wheel to me. I have spun non-stop since we got home from Sheep Street Fiber for a quick tune up. I am in LOVE!!
This is the first yarn from my wheel. Looks about like my first spindle spun did. Practice I will!

It may well be the fugliest yarn every created, but it’s MY fugly yarn. I’ve spun my heart out on my Ashford spindle since November. It’s around 129 yards of natural shetland. I can’t decide if I want to dye it or just leave it like this and admire it. I probably won’t make anything with it, being my first yarn and all. Is it against the rules just to spin and keep the yarny goodness around to fondle and adore?
Iknow, I know, funfur novelty yarn, but my mom gave it to me, so I just had to whipup a little scarf with it. Want to be sure she picks up more cheap yarn as she finds it, and if I don’t use it, she won’t. It was a nice, quick diverson.
Random scraps of paper glued to cardstock, rubbed with old linen distressing ink, and then random embossing powder spread around and heated. I think I’ll cut it into atc’s and see where that takes me.
